Antiemetics may prevent emesis/vomiting by blocking the CTZ or by preventing peripheral or cortical stimulation of the emetic center.

H1 antihistaminics

  • Promethazine

Anticholinergics

  • Hyoscine
  • Dicyclomine

Neuroleptics

  • Chlorpromazine, Prochlorperazine

Prokinetic drugs

  • Metoclopramide, Domperidone,

  • Tegaserod

5-HT3 antagonists

  • Ondansetron
